What we collect

  • Browsing: no account needed. Our server keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser) to diagnose problems and prevent abuse.
  • User accounts: your mobile number (used to sign in and reset your password), an email if you choose to add one, a username if you choose one, and your password in hashed form. Verification texts are sent through Twilio, which receives your number to deliver them. Top-up payments are processed by Square; your card details go to Square and we never see them. Verification, confirmation and reminder emails are sent through an email delivery provider, which receives your address to deliver them. What you type into the online help is sent to an AI provider to generate the answer (for visitors in Europe it is not sent to any AI provider); we keep it for 10 days to improve the service, then delete it automatically.
  • Claiming a business: the email address a verification code was sent to, and any documents you upload for manual review.
  • Business details: the name, address, phone, hours, languages and description you enter. These are shown publicly.
  • Reports: the problem type you pick, what you write, and your email if you choose to leave one.
  • Job and housing posts: the title, details, area, phone, optional email and photos you add. They are shown publicly once approved and stay up until you take them down; you can remove them any time under “My posts”.
  • Post complaints: the problem type you pick, what you write, any images you add, and your email if you leave one.
  • Featured spots and ads: the artwork you upload, the business you pick, your orders, bids and credit history. Payment and credit records are kept for bookkeeping even after an account is closed (they contain only ID numbers, no name or email).
  • Contact form: the name, email, optional phone and message you enter are sent to our inbox.
  • Messages: review results, bidding and renewal notices are kept in your account.
  • Approximate location: when a page loads, Cloudflare tells us roughly which country, state or province, city and ZIP your IP address is in. We use it only to preselect your area (for example the area on a post, where “Find local featured spots” takes you, or whether to suggest another country site) and do not store it.
  • Partnership posts: the type, title, details, city, phone and optional WeChat / WhatsApp you enter. They are shown publicly once approved and stay up until you take them down; you can remove them any time under “My posts”.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information, we never publish the documents you upload, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers. This site currently has no third-party analytics or advertising scripts; the only outside script is Square’s payment script on the top-up page, used to take the payment.

Cookies

We use three cookies: the session cookie after you sign in (it lasts 60 days or until you sign out), a plain marker that says you are signed in so the header shows the right button, and one that remembers the language you chose (one year). There are no tracking cookies, so there is no consent banner. Your browser also remembers two settings locally: that you dismissed the “switch country site” prompt, and that you paused the ad animation. They stay on your device and are not sent to us.

How long we keep things

  • Account details: for as long as the account exists. They are deleted when you close the account yourself under “Account” in your user centre or ask us to (except payment and credit records, see above).
  • Claim documents: kept for 12 months after the decision in case of a dispute, then deleted.
  • Server logs: kept on the usual server schedule, normally no more than 12 months.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and your business page. You can also close your account yourself under “Account” in your user centre. Residents of the EU, the UK and California have additional rights under local law, including access, correction, deletion and opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information. Write to info@huarenbiz.com and we will deal with it and reply within one month.

Users in the EU and the UK

  • The controller of your data is the operator of this site (see “Contact” below).
  • Legal basis: business names, addresses and phone numbers in the directory are public business information, which we compile and show on the basis of legitimate interests so that customers can find businesses; accounts, sign-in and top-ups are needed to provide the service you asked for; what you send through the contact form or the online help is information you chose to give us.
  • You have the right to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its processing (including objecting to your business being listed), and to receive a copy of your account data. Write to us and we will reply within one month; if a request is complex and needs longer, we will tell you why within that month, and we may extend by up to two further months.
  • You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country; in the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
  • The providers we use for text-message verification, payments and email (Twilio, Square and an email delivery provider) may process your data outside the EU. What visitors in Europe type into the online help is not sent to any AI provider.
  • On our European sites we do not list entries that are only a person’s name without a business name. If your name appears on a business page, you can ask us to remove it.

Children

This site is for businesses and adults. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
